Job Summary
Assist surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical tasks while functioning as a Surgical Technologist as needed. Anticipate surgeon preferences regarding sutures, specialty supplies, and instrumentation, and ensure implants and specialized equipment remain available and functional. Monitor patient status, respond to potential complications, and maintain strict sterile field integrity by performing proper hand scrubs and modeling OR attire compliance. Coordinate workflow with anesthesia, nursing, and OR staff to support smooth surgical cases, while identifying and communicating risks for surgical site infections. Complete ongoing education to maintain competency and assist with onboarding and mentoring coworkers. Work full-time days shifts with call, providing advanced, hands-on support directly to patient safety and surgical efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of full‐time scrub experience (routine and complex cases)
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
