Job Summary
Assist surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical tasks while functioning as a Surgical Technologist as needed. Anticipate surgeon preferences and patient needs for supplies and instrumentation, ensuring implants and specialized equipment are available and functioning properly. Monitor patient status, respond to potential complications, and maintain strict sterile field integrity by performing proper hand scrubs and modeling OR attire compliance. Safely handle contaminated instruments, coordinate workflow to support efficient surgical cases, and communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff. Work days shifts (4 days/10-hour shifts) with call, providing advanced, hands-on support to contribute directly to patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of full-time scrub experience (routine and complex cases)
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
