Job Summary
Assist surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical tasks while functioning as a Surgical Technologist as needed. Anticipate surgeon preferences regarding sutures, supplies, and instrumentation, and ensure implants and specialized equipment remain available and functional. Monitor patient status to respond to potential complications and coordinate workflow with anesthesia, nursing, and OR staff. Maintain strict sterile field integrity, handle contaminated instruments safely, and participate in point-of-use cleaning. Complete ongoing education to maintain competency and assist with onboarding new coworkers. Work full-time days shifts with call, supporting patient safety and surgical efficiency in the operating room.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of full‐time scrub experience (routine and complex cases)
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
