Job Summary
Assist surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical tasks while functioning as a Surgical Technologist as needed. Anticipate surgeon preferences and patient needs regarding sutures, specialty supplies, and instrumentation. Ensure implants and specialized equipment are available and functioning properly. Monitor patient status and respond to potential complications. Maintain strict sterile field integrity, identify infection risks, and safely handle contaminated instruments. Coordinate workflow to support smooth, efficient surgical cases and communicate effectively with anesthesia, nursing, and OR staff. Work 40 hours/week in days shifts (4 days/10-hour shifts) with call.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of full‐time scrub experience (routine and complex cases)
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
