Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist First Assist supports the surgeon in the Operating Room by providing exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other interoperative technical functions to help ensure a safer operation. The ST-FA may perform as a Surgical Technologist in the OR as needed and coordinates the care of the surgical patient with the team while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Must understand English and be able to perform job-related functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Required Qualifications
- Education: High-School Diploma or GED Required
- 1-2 years of scrub experience
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- NCCT: Tech in Surgery - Certified (NCCT) exam with certification for LPN and Military candidates (if applicable)
- 2+ Years of Full-Time scrub experience preferred
- Graduate with a Degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited program preferred
