Job Summary
Cover on-call procedures during weekday and/or weekend hours, including holidays, within the designated Surgery department at St. John's Hospital. Prepare and monitor equipment, pass instruments, maintain the sterile field, assist with patient transfer/positioning, and perform a variety of surgical skills and procedures. Operate autonomously with minimal supervision as the first call in the main OR for both General and Ortho. Requires one year of surgical technologist experience, CST certification, and BLS.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized surgical technology program
- Has successfully completed military training in surgical technology
- Military documentation to establish education includes a DD214 demonstrating graduation from a military training program
- 1 year of experience working as a surgical technologist
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree in surgical technology
- Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) issued by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification
- High School Diploma or GED PLUS 3 years working as a Surgical Technologist working in healthcare setting
