Surgical Technologist (CST) -OR General Surgery

Job Summary
Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures in the operating room. Ensure proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies, assist the surgeon during operations as allowed, and help with cleaning the OR after procedures to ensure proper equipment routing and material handling. Requires completion of a surgical technician program and NBSTSA certification or eligibility within one year, along with CPR/BLS and annual Validation Day. Must possess knowledge of various surgical procedures, sterile technique, asepsis, and patient safety, and demonstrate strong interpersonal communication to support the surgical team in General Surgery cases. Location is York, PA (US) with on-site (in-person) responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technician program
- Certification through NBSTSA or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
- CPR and BLS validation maintained; annual Validation Day attendance
- Knowledge of various surgical procedures and ability to anticipate needs of the surgeon
- Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Strict adherence to sterile field policies and regulations
- Knowledge of basic patient safety concepts and asepsis principles
- Knowledge of OR emergency procedures
