Job Summary
Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures in the operating room; ensure proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies for each operation; assist the surgeon during the operation as allowed by standards; assist with cleaning the operating room and proper routing of equipment and used materials; report to Manager; requires completion of a surgical technician program and NBSTSA certification (or within one year), CPR/BLS validation, and strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technician program
- NBSTSA certification or ability to obtain certification within one year
- CPR and BLS validation required
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment
- Adherence to sterile field policies
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Asepsis principles and patient safety concepts
