Surgical Technologist (CST) -OR General Surgery

Job Summary
Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures in the OR, ensuring proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies and assisting the surgeon as allowed by standards; maintain sterile field, assist with equipment routing, and help with cleaning the OR after procedures. Requires completion of a surgical technician program and NBSTSA certification (or ability to obtain within 1 year), CPR/BLS validation, and strong knowledge of various surgical procedures, equipment, asepsis, and patient safety.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technician program
- NBSTSA certification or ability to obtain within one year
- CPR, BLS validation and annual Validation Day
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile field
- Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Adherence to sterile technique and patient safety
- Asepsis principles in patient care
- Knowledge of OR emergency situations
