Job Summary
Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures. Ensure the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies in the operating room for each operation; assist the surgeon during the operation as allowed by professional and legal standards; and assist with cleaning the operating room after the operation ensuring proper routing of equipment and used material. Reports to Manager. This role supports patient safety and aseptic technique, with responsibilities encompassing anticipation of the surgeon's needs and maintaining a sterile field.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technician program.
- Must be certified through NBSTSA or be able to obtain certification within one year of employment.
- CPR, BLS validation and annual Validation Day required.
