Surgical Technologist (CST) -OR General Surgery

Job Summary
Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures; ensure the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies in the operating room to each operation; assist the surgeon during the operation as allowed by professional and legal standards; assist with cleaning the operating room after the operation ensuring proper routing of equipment and used material;Reports to Manager; CPR/BLS validation and annual Validation Day; NBSTSA certification or eligible within one year; knowledge of asepsis, sterile field, surgical instrumentation, and ability to anticipate needs of the surgeon; strong interpersonal/communication skills; healthcare environment with locations around the state; competitive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technician program
- Must be certified through NBSTSA or obtain certification within one year of employment
- CPR and BLS validation maintained; attendance of annual Validation Day required
- Knowledge of various surgical procedures and ability to anticipate surgeon needs
- Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Strict adherence to sterile field policies and regulations
- Knowledge and practice of basic patient safety concepts
- Application of asepsis principles to provide optimal patient care
- Knowledge of OR emergency situations
