Job Summary
Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures in the operating room. Ensure proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies; assist the surgeon during operations as allowed by standards; assist with cleaning and equipment routing after procedures. Requires NBSTSA certification or the ability to obtain within one year, CPR/BLS, and strict adherence to sterile technique. Candidates should have knowledge of various surgical procedures, instrumentation, and patient safety concepts, along with strong interpersonal communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technician program
- Certification through NBSTSA or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
- CPR and BLS validation with annual Validation Day
- Knowledge of sterile technique and asepsis in the operating room
- Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and assist during procedures
- Maintains sterile field per policies and regulations
