Surgical Technologist (Columbia County) FT

Surgical Technologist non-certified operates under the direction of the registered professional nurse, assisting in moderate to high acuity surgical cases. Responsibilities include setting up the sterile field, preparing the operative suite, arranging instruments and supplies, performing surgical counts, scrubbing and gowning, passing instruments to the surgeon, maintaining sterile technique, preparing dressings, and supporting perioperative care. The role also involves mentoring or training team members, participating in performance improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards, assisting with inventory and room turnover, and providing patient-centered care in collaboration with the health care team. Must be able to work in a fast-paced operating room environment and adapt to evolving case needs; prior OR experience is preferred and relevant certifications are required upon hire.
