Job Summary
Surgical Technologist responsible for preparing the operative suite, passing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, performing sterile field setup, assisting surgeon and team, counting supplies, draping, and ensuring patient safety in moderate to high acuity surgical cases; requires understanding of asepsis, instrument troubleshooting, ability to mentor/train, participate in performance improvement, and support continuing education and policy adherence within Wellstar Health System.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of accredited Surgical Technologist program or LPN (per requirements)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Surgical Technology certification upon hire (preferred)
- English language proficiency
- Ability to read, write and speak English; strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with health care providers and multi-task in high-acuity environments
