Job Summary
Set up the Operating Room with necessary supplies, x-rays, and instruments for patient care cases. Gather and handle surgical instruments during procedures while maintaining aseptic technique. Prepare equipment and resource needs based on individualized plans of care, re-evaluating requirements as needed. Communicate accurate, timely patient information to the Registered Nurse and collaborate on prioritized, integrated care plans. Operate all surgical equipment and instruments, properly label laboratory specimens, and document quality controls according to unit standards. Demonstrate problem-solving skills, conflict resolution, and team building while maintaining an organized work environment and constant alertness. Perform other duties as assigned in a safe manner.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- Tech in Surgery - Certified - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- National Registered Surgical Technician (NRST) - American Allied Health Association (AAH)
