Job Summary
Assist with set-up and preparation of operating room cases, support surgical procedures across specialties including open heart, urology, and neurosurgery, and participate in case completion activities. Maintain current CPR certification and demonstrate knowledge of patient care principles appropriate to the age of patients served. Work within a 350-bed medical center recognized as a Cardiovascular Center of Excellence, providing compassionate surgical services ranging from ambulatory to high-acuity procedures for adults and pediatrics. Full-time positions offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance up to $7,000.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an approved school of Operating Room Technology or Surgical Technology
- Certification in Operating Room Technology or Surgical Technology
- Ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff and all others using proper channels of communication
- Must maintain current CPR certification
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span
- Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status
- Interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs
- Provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures
- Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence
