Job Summary
Surgical Technologists in the Cardiothoracic OR assist in surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field and ensuring quality patient care during operations. Key responsibilities include preparing surgical instruments, assisting surgeons, and maintaining aseptic techniques. Ideal candidates should possess licensure or certification in surgical technology, basic life support certification, and relevant experience. Preferred candidates have prior experience in a multi-disciplinary OR and hold a Certified Surgical Technologist credential.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technology program accredited through the CAAHEP or ABHES
- Completion of a military surgical technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS-C or CST)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- One year of surgical technologist experience in an acute care operating room
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist
- Two years of experience in a multi-disciplined OR in an acute care hospital setting
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must comply with an influenza prevention program and obtain an influenza vaccination annually or an approved exemption.
