Job Summary
Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining sterile fields, retracting instruments, and supplying medications to surgeons during procedures. Accurately checks required supplies and equipment, sets up operative instrumentation, and completes instrument, sponge, and blade counts with the registered nurse. Transports patients according to unit schedules, cleans equipment and facilities, and performs clerical duties as assigned. Requires accredited surgical technology program, surgery technician certification, and CPR/BLS certification. Full-time position in a 49-bed hospital serving the Columbia River Gorge community.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited surgical technology program
- Surgery Technician certification
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Scrub technician experience
- Operating room experience and/or training course
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
