Surgical Technologist

Job Summary
Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining sterile fields, retracting instruments, and passing supplies to surgeons. Accurately check required equipment prior to procedures, assemble operative instrumentation, and set up sterile fields demonstrating careful aseptic technique. Collect data on assigned cases based on Performance Standards of Care, complete instrument and sponge counts with the Registered Nurse, and clean equipment and facilities as necessary. Transport patients according to unit schedules and perform clerical duties as assigned. Requires accredited surgical technology program, Surgery Technician certification, and CPR/BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited surgical technology program
- Surgery Technician certification
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR
- Receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
- Acknowledge that you have accessed and read the E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices and understand the contents therein
Desired Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Scrub technician experience
- Operating room experience and/or training course
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
