Surgical Technologist

Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining sterile fields, retracting and passing instruments, and supplying medications to surgeons. Accurately check required supplies and equipment prior to each case, then assemble operative instrumentation and set up sterile fields for expedient retrieval. Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse according to established standards. Transport patients according to unit schedules, perform housekeeping duties, and collect case data based on Performance Standards of Care. Maintain neat and orderly sterile fields demonstrating careful attention to aseptic technique and label solutions per established standards.
