Job Summary
Support the full surgical experience by preparing instruments and equipment, assisting the physician during procedures, and verifying correct patient and surgical site details. Maintain a sterile environment by cleaning and disinfecting instruments and rooms, while ensuring all medications and solutions are clearly labeled. Educate patients and caregivers on procedures and discharge instructions, then support patient discharge and return post-op calls. Schedule follow-up appointments and audit patient records to ensure continuity of care.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and instrument trays
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and labeling standards
- Proficient in written and verbal communication, including basic report writing
- Familiarity with MS Office, especially Excel
- Able to interpret written, diagram, and verbal instructions
- Basic math proficiency
- Experience in patient care and working with physicians and caregivers
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Regular use of computer, phone, and other office equipment
- Lift and move up to 25 lbs. as needed
- Good vision and hearing to interact safely and effectively in a surgical setting
