Job Summary
Conduct surgical procedures at the San Diego Naval Medical Center under the direction of surgeons and anesthesia providers. Perform preoperative and intraoperative duties including patient preparation, instrument handling, and sterile field maintenance. Maintain accurate surgical documentation and ensure compliance with military medical standards. Requires CAAHAP/ABHES accredited program graduation, NBSTSA or NCCT certification, and one year of recent surgical tech experience. BLS certification required prior to start. Full-time daytime shifts, Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly. Competitive pay, paid time off, federal holidays, and benefit options available for serving members and their families.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a program accredited by the CAAHAP, ABHES or a formal military training program
- Must be certified by the NBSTSA or certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the NCCT or hold a military MOS certification as a Surgical Technician
- Must have minimum 1 year experience working as a Surgical Tech within the past two years
- BLS certification will be required prior to start date
