Job Summary
Prepare the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies. Scrub in and maintain aseptic technique while passing instruments, sutures, and supplies during the procedure. Anticipate team needs, position and drape patients, and perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN. Assist with neonatal resuscitation equipment, manage surgical specimens, and decontaminate instruments post-procedure. Support emergency situations including stat cesarean sections and postpartum hemorrhage. Provide general patient care tasks such as vital signs, transport, and hygiene. Stock labor rooms and supply carts to ensure adequate supplies. Participate in quality improvement activities and attend required trainings. Work night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with alternating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- Certification by the Association of Surgery Technologists as a Surgical Technologist CST, NBSTSA
- Basic Life Support /CPR certification through American Heart Association
- 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
- Alternating Weekends
- Full Time
- 36 Weekly Standard Hours
