Job Summary
Prepares the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies. Scrubs in and maintains aseptic technique while anticipating team needs to pass instruments, sutures, and supplies. Assists with patient positioning, draping, vital signs, transport, and hygiene, plus decontaminates and restocks instruments after procedures. Performs counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN before, during, and after surgery. Assists in emergency situations such as stat cesarean sections, postpartum hemorrhage, and neonatal resuscitation. Works night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with alternating weekends, full-time 36-hour schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- Certification by the Association of Surgery Technologists as a Surgical Technologist CST, NBSTSA
- Basic Life Support /CPR certification through American Heart Association
- 7:00 pm – 7:00 am shift
- Alternating Weekends
- Full Time employment
- 36 Weekly Standard Hours
