Surgical Technician

Prepare the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies. Scrub in and maintain aseptic technique while anticipating team needs to pass instruments, sutures, and supplies. Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping, then perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN before, during, and after surgery. Decontaminate, clean, and restock instruments and supplies post-procedure. Assist in emergency situations such as stat cesarean sections and postpartum hemorrhage, maintaining competency in neonatal resuscitation equipment. Provide general patient care including vital signs, transport, and hygiene. Stock labor rooms and supply carts to ensure adequate supplies. Participate in quality improvement activities and attend required staff meetings and trainings.
