Job Summary
Assist nursing and surgical staff with direct patient care activities in the operating room environment. Perform technical duties as scrub personnel, including applying sterile dressings, gloving, draping, and maintaining a clean work area. Manage sterile supplies by checking package integrity, arranging instruments, and ensuring proper aseptic technique throughout procedures. Collaborate with the surgical team to gather equipment, monitor counts for needles and sponges, and report drain or implant locations. Participate in staff education, unit performance improvement activities, and the implementation of new policies to enhance patient safety and care routines.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Must be a Certified Surgical Technician by the Association of Surgery Technologists, NBSTSA
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
- Monday to Friday
- Full Time
- 7:00 am-3:00 pm
