Surgical Technician - PRN

Job Summary
Prepare and maintain medical equipment, set up sterile fields with instruments and drapes, and perform pre-procedure skin preparations. Assist surgeons by passing sterile supplies, retracting, suturing, and draping patients during procedures. Participate in sponge and instrument counts, help prepare specimens, and apply dressings. Post-procedure, assist with patient transfers to stretchers and clean/restock the procedure room. Maintain inventory, manage physician preference cards, and oversee sterilization and decontamination processes. Requires CPR certification; certification preferred or experience in lieu. Monday through Friday schedule.
Required Qualifications
- CPR certification
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program
- Basic Life Support certification
- Must be certified in Basic Life Support
- CST certification
- Must stand for long periods
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients in the center
- Demonstrates the ability to utilize recognized channels of communication
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, co-workers, and other health team members
- Occasional evening and/or weekend work
Desired Qualifications
- Certification preferred
- Experience will be considered in lieu of certification
- 1-2 years clinical experience in an operating room setting
- 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field
