Surgical Technician

Job Summary
Assists in surgical procedures by performing as a scrub tech on a novice to advanced beginner level, prepares the OR with instruments and supplies, maintains aseptic technique, assists during operative procedures, ensures instrument/needle/sponges count accuracy, identifies and handles specimens, assists with medications under RN direction, and supports coaching and training of coworkers. Requires completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training, CST or TS-C certification, and 15 hours/year of continuing education; day shift at Greer Memorial Hospital (Greer, SC).
Required Qualifications
- Education - Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces
- Minimum Certifications/Registrations - CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) if employed as a surgical tech in SC prior to 2008 or completed military surgical tech training
- Maintains surgical technology certification
- 15 hours annually of continuing ST education
