Job Summary
Assist in surgical operations under supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses and Surgical Assistants; prepare operating room by setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment; maintain sterile technique and compliance with HIPAA; anticipate needs of the Surgeon; participate in orientation of new staff; contribute to a healthy work environment; perform duties related to instrument handling, specimen preparation and instrument sterilization; support ongoing education and QA programs in the OR.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Two (2) years of hospital main operating room experience preferred
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Knowledge of Amkai Charts Database software and Microsoft Word; Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
