Surgical Technician - Part Time!

Assists in surgical operations under the supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses and Surgical Assistants. Assists in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards and company policies and procedures. Assists the Nurses and Surgeons in delivering the highest standard of patient care available. Prepares the operating room by setting up instruments, ensuring equipment works, labeling sterile solutions, and gathering supplies; opens sterile packs per sterile technique; maintains records of medications used intra-operatively, specimens retrieved, and implants. Helps in patient transfer to PACU and assists with staging and positioning of patients for surgery. Supports orientation of new staff, participates in QA/PI activities, and contributes to a healthy work environment. Requires manual dexterity, the ability to handle multiple tasks under stress, strong teamwork and communication skills, and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Familiarity with Amkai Charts and Microsoft Office tools is preferred. This is a part-time role requiring the ability to work in an operating room setting with periodic physical demands, including lifting up to 25 lbs. High school diploma or GED is required; two years of OR experience preferred; CST certification preferred; BLS certification required.
