Job Summary
Prepare and maintain sterile fields for obstetrical procedures including cesarean sections, passing instruments, and ensuring equipment functionality. Scrub in, maintain aseptic technique, and anticipate team needs by passing sutures and supplies while performing counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments. Assist with routine patient care, vital signs, transport, and hygiene; decontaminate instruments and restock supply carts. Support emergency situations such as stat cesarean sections and postpartum hemorrhage, maintaining competency in neonatal resuscitation equipment. Alternate weekends as a full-time surgical technician.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- Certification by the Association of Surgery Technologists as a Surgical Technologist CST, NBSTSA required
- Alternating Weekends
- Full Time
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a surgical setting preferred
- labor and delivery experience highly desirable
