Job Summary

Assist the surgeon during consultations and surgeries, seat patients, and take vitals while maintaining competency in anesthesia monitoring. Provide clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions, obtain medical clearances, and document accurate records in compliance with established standards. Prepare and maintain clinical equipment and instruments, ensuring proper radiation protection and anatomical positioning for radiographic images. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and foster cooperative relationships with doctors, patients, and team members. Accept special projects and additional responsibilities as needed in a dynamic work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic CPR Certification
  • Hepatitis B Vaccination & Titer
  • TB Vaccination & Titer
  • Must be able to climb or balance up to 3 feet
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Must be able to stand and walk extensively
  • Must be able to lift and mobilize patients
  • Must be able to lift and carry boxes and supplies up to 25 pounds
  • Must have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Must be able to work constantly with other employees, patients, and doctors
  • Must be able to attend to different tasks simultaneously
  • Must follow strict safety guidelines and procedures according to OSHA and office standards
  • Must adhere to all office policies diligently
  • Must maintain a positive rapport with patients and team members
  • Must effectively communicate verbally with patients and staff in a clear and professional manner
  • Must work efficiently with a keen eye for detail
  • Must adapt to changing job duties and work schedules as needed
  • Must demonstrate active listening by fully engaging in conversations, understanding points being made, asking relevant questions, and avoiding inappropriate interruptions
  • Must be able to assist the doctor during surgeries
  • Must be able to seat patients
  • Must be able to take vitals
  • Must maintain competency in anesthesia monitoring
  • Must ensure all consent forms and treatment plans are accurately completed
  • Must provide clear and concise pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients
  • Must obtain necessary medical clearances
  • Must adhere to OSHA and regulatory guidelines
  • Must ensure radiation protection for all patients
  • Must produce radiographic images with proper exposure techniques and anatomical positioning
  • Must document and maintain accurate records/charting in compliance with established standards
  • Must prepare and maintain clinical equipment and instruments
  • Must maintain the confidentiality of patient, clinic, and hospital information
  • Must approach conflicts constructively, identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution
  • Must ensure patient comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit
  • Must accept special projects and additional responsibilities as needed
  • Must demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic work environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Oral and Maxillofacial Assisting/Dental Assistant Certification
