Job Summary
Provide full-spectrum sterile technique in the OR, including setting up surgical trays, preparing/draping patients, assisting with post-op dressings, maintaining sterile environments, scrubbing and circulating across multiple specialties (general, robotics, neurosurgery, plastics, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, OB/GYN, OMFS, vascular, and orthopedic), transporting patients and supplies, and preparing instrumentation. Requires a surgical technology certificate, applicable certifications (CST/TS-C or MOS), BLS, and at least 3 years of scrub-tech experience in an OR; US citizenship and DHA/security clearance required. Work sites include TAMC in Honolulu and related Hawaii clinics; on-site with no telework.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate in Surgical Technology from a program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or completion of a formal military training program for surgical technicians
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certification as Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA or TS-C from NCCT or MOS certification as surgical/operating room technician
- Minimum of three (3) years of continuous experience as a scrub tech in an operating room setting with diverse surgical exposure
- U.S. Citizenship
- Must meet DHA health requirements and security/fitness for duty
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
