Job Summary
Works closely with the surgical team to provide direct patient care in an effort to optimize positive surgical outcomes. Assists the surgeon and surgical team during the procedure by providing the appropriate sutures, supplies, instruments and equipment. Maintains proper sterile technique during the procedure. This role is a part-time Surgical Technician for Labor and Delivery at Providence St Vincent Medical Center, with day and night shifts (7am-7:30pm or 7pm-7:30am, 2 twelve-hour shifts per week) and rotating weekends; located on-site in Portland, OR. Minimum qualifications include accredited surgical technology education and active certification by NBSTSA, JCAHPO, or NCCT, or equivalent military/Public Health Service training with ongoing CEUS; or grandfathered experience with required CEU. The position emphasizes collaboration within the surgical team and adherence to safety and credentialing standards. Required Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES and holds an active certification by the NBSTSA, JCAHPO, or NCCT
- Completion of a training program in a branch of the armed forces or in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corp and who completed 16 hours of continuing education every two years
- “Grandfathered” based on work experience in an ASC, hospital, or federal government agency between January 1, 2014 through January 1, 2017 only and who complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years
