Job Summary
Under the direction of an RN, scrub on operative procedures, obtain and prepare instruments and equipment, and maintain a clean and safe surgical environment. Perform all patient care activities with compassion, dignity, and respect while maintaining aseptic technique 100% of the time. Demonstrate proficiency in gowning and gloving, prepare appropriate supplies based on surgeon preference, and check equipment for proper function prior to procedures. Serve as first scrub, prepare rooms for the next patient, and prepare instruments for decontamination. Requires high school graduation, BLS CPR certification, surgical technologist training with clinical experience, and at least five years of experience. Preferred certifications include those from the Association of Surgical Technologists or National Board of Surgical Technology.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- BLS CPR certification
- Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program including clinical experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Surgical Technician

- Certified by The Association of Surgical Technologists, The National Board of Surgical Technology, or The Surgical Assisting Liaison Council Certificate of Surgical Technology
