Job Summary
Assist during operative and invasive procedures in the surgical center; prepare operating room with anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment; maintain sterile technique and instrument tables; set up, scrub and prepare procedures ahead of schedule; perform aseptic technique when handling sterile supplies; monitor instrument counts and report discrepancies to the circulating RN and surgeon; anticipate needs of the surgeon during intraoperative phase; maintain patient safety, privacy, and dignity; collaborate with nursing staff to ensure equipment and supplies are available; provide explanations and reassurance to patients and families as needed; required to have High School diploma or equivalent and maintain BLS, with proficiency in EMR and English communication.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- Current BCLS Certification and must maintain BLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in EMR and computer literacy
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
