Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist supports the Digestive Health Center as part of the endoscopy team, assisting with patient care activities, obtaining specimens, and helping the physician with instruments and room setup/teardown between cases. Responsible for reprocessing endoscopes and related instruments, and serving as a resource for technical equipment within the department. Duties include coordinating supplies and equipment, documenting in patient records, maintaining aseptic environments, assisting in cleaning/sterilization, preparing procedure rooms, obtaining specimens, inventory/restocking, and supporting the RN and physician during procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) within 18 months - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
- Education: Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology
- Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology
- Work Experience: Responsibilities
