Job Summary
Participate in patient positioning and surgical site verification, assist with prepping and draping the surgical field, and ensure all instruments, implants, and equipment are available and functioning. Assist with controlling bleeding using cautery, clamps, or ties, perform knot tying, running sutures, or staple application, and pass instruments efficiently and accurately. Support deep and superficial wound closure, assist with drilling, reaming, suctioning, irrigation, and cutting sutures, and provide reduction, positioning, and implant support in orthopedic cases. Communicate effectively with the surgical team and participate in on-call rotation for trauma and after-hours cases. Full-time Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. CST certification and accredited Surgical Technology program completion required; orthopedic experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear
- Lifting limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff
- Lifting limited to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff
- Must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits
Desired Qualifications
- Orthopedic surgical experience strongly preferred
