Surgical Technician, CVOR - Operating Room

Job Summary
Assist surgeons and nurses in direct patient care by selecting, setting up, and passing sterile instruments, preparing the OR table, and scrubbing for procedures including open heart, vascular, endovascular, general surgery, robotics, trauma, and specialized areas like ortho, bariatrics, ENT, neuro/spine, ophthalmology, and maxillofacial. Maintain a clean, safe environment, manage patient specimens, and demonstrate aseptic technique while responding appropriately to emergency situations and delegations. Acquire and operate specialized equipment, assist with preoperative and postoperative care, and participate in preceptor activities and elective educational opportunities. On-call rotation with a 30-minute response time is required. Certification within one year of hire is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Surgical Technology from a NBSTA accredited program or certification from NCCT
- Four (4) years of experience as a surgical technologist with a High School Diploma
- Four (4) years applicable on the job or military surgical technology training with a High School Diploma
- Certified Surgical Technologist required within one year of hire, if hired without certification
- Minimum of two years recent experience in your primary specialty
- Proficient in scrubbing: Heart, Vascular, Endovascular, General Surgery, Robotics, and Trauma
- On Call is required with a 30-minute response time
Desired Qualifications
- Ortho, Bariatrics, ENT, Neuro/Spine, Ophthalmology, Urology, and Maxillofacial a plus
