Job Summary
Assist nursing and surgical staff with direct patient care activities in the operating room environment. Perform technical duties as scrub personnel, including precise reaction to situations, sterile pack arrangement, and instrument counts. Collaborate with the OR team by checking cases, gathering supplies, and anticipating needs throughout procedures. Monitor aseptic technique, identify breaks in sterility, and ensure proper specimen collection and identification. Participate in staff education, unit PI activities, and the implementation of new policies to improve patient care routines.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Must be a Certified Surgical Technician by the Association of Surgery Technologists, NBSTSA
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
