Job Summary
Prepare the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies. Scrub in and maintain aseptic technique while anticipating team needs to pass instruments, sutures, and supplies. Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping, then perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN. Decontaminate, clean, and restock instruments after procedures, while assisting in emergencies like stat cesarean sections and postpartum hemorrhage. Maintain competency in neonatal resuscitation equipment and support general patient care tasks including vital signs and transport. Work night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with alternating weekends, 36 weekly standard hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- Certification by the Association of Surgery Technologists as a Surgical Technologist CST, NBSTSA
- Basic Life Support /CPR certification through American Heart Association
- 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
- Alternating Weekends
- Full Time
- 36 Weekly Standard Hours
