Job Summary
Assist nursing and surgical staff with direct patient care activities in the operating room environment. Perform technical duties for scrub personnel, including applying sterile dressings, draping, and gloving techniques. Monitor aseptic technique, identify breaks in sterility, and ensure proper collection and delivery of specimens. Collaborate with the surgical team to check cases, gather supplies, and anticipate needs throughout procedures. Conduct needle, sponge, and instrument counts while reporting drain and implant locations. Participate in staff education, unit performance improvement activities, and the implementation of new policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Must be a Certified Surgical Technician by the Association of Surgery Technologists, NBSTSA
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
- Monday to Friday
- Full Time
- 7:00 am-3:00 pm
