Job Summary
Prepare and maintain sterile fields for cesarean sections and gynecological surgeries by setting up instruments, drapes, and supplies. Scrub in, pass instruments, and anticipate team needs during procedures while performing counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN. Assist with patient positioning, draping, and hygiene; decontaminate and restock instruments post-procedure. Support emergency obstetrical cases and maintain competency in neonatal resuscitation equipment. Stock labor rooms and ORs with necessary supplies. Work night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) with alternating weekends in the Labor & Delivery department at Jersey City Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- Certification by the Association of Surgery Technologists as a Surgical Technologist CST, NBSTSA
- Basic Life Support /CPR certification through American Heart Association
- 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
- Alternating Weekends
- Full Time
- 36 Weekly Standard Hours
