Job Summary
Prepare the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies. Scrub in and maintain aseptic technique while anticipating team needs to pass instruments, sutures, and supplies. Assist with patient positioning, draping, and specimen care, then decontaminate and restock instruments after procedures. Perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN before, during, and after surgery. Support emergency situations including stat cesarean sections and postpartum hemorrhage, and assist with general patient care tasks such as vital signs and transport. Maintain competency in neonatal resuscitation equipment and participate in quality improvement activities. Night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with alternating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- Certification by the Association of Surgery Technologists as a Surgical Technologist CST, NBSTSA
- Basic Life Support /CPR certification through American Heart Association
- 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
- Alternating Weekends
- Full Time
- 36 Weekly Standard Hours
