Surgical Technician

Prepare the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies. Scrub in and maintain aseptic technique while anticipating team needs to pass instruments, sutures, and supplies. Assist with patient positioning, draping, vital signs, transport, and hygiene as needed. Perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN before, during, and after surgery. Ensure proper specimen care, decontaminate instruments, and restock supply carts. Support emergency situations including stat cesarean sections and postpartum hemorrhage. Maintain competency in neonatal resuscitation equipment. Work night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with alternating weekends, 36 weekly standard hours. Participate in quality improvement activities and required trainings.
