Surgical Technician

Prepare the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies. Scrub in and maintain aseptic technique while anticipating team needs to pass instruments, sutures, and supplies. Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping, plus perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN. Handle specimen care, decontaminate instruments, and assist in emergencies such as stat cesarean sections and postpartum hemorrhage. Maintain competency in neonatal resuscitation equipment and support general patient care tasks including vital signs and transport. Stock labor rooms and ORs, participate in quality improvement activities, and attend required trainings. Work night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) with alternating weekends, 36 weekly standard hours.
