Job Summary
Prepare the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures by setting up instruments, sterile drapes, and supplies. Scrub in, maintain aseptic technique, and anticipate team needs to pass instruments and supplies. Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while performing counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN. Ensure proper specimen care, decontaminate instruments, and assist in emergencies like stat cesarean sections or postpartum hemorrhage. Maintain neonatal resuscitation competency and support general patient care tasks including vital signs and transport. Stock labor rooms and supply carts, participate in quality improvement activities, and attend required trainings. Work night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) with alternating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- Certification by the Association of Surgery Technologists as a Surgical Technologist CST, NBSTSA
- Basic Life Support /CPR certification through American Heart Association
- 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
- Alternating Weekends
- Full Time
- 36 Weekly Standard Hours
