Job Summary
Scrub in for robotics, vascular, endovascular, general, neuro/spine, orthopedics, and complex plastic cases while maintaining sterile fields and passing instruments. Assist the surgical team with equipment functionality and routine patient care under nurse and physician supervision. Maintain strong communication skills, multitask independently, and rotate through holiday calls and on-call shifts. Requires Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) and current BLS certification. Part-time day shift at RWJBarnabas Health in Somerset.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Surgical Technician training program from and accredited school
- 2 3 years of experience in a main OR
- Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA)
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- Day shift
- Part Time
- On call required
- Holiday call on rotation
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, general, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently
