Job Summary
Assist nursing and surgical staff with direct patient care activities in the operating room environment. Perform technical duties as scrub personnel, including precise reaction to situations, applying sterile surgical dressings, and maintaining a clean work area. Check cases, gather supplies, and ensure proper functioning of equipment while collaborating with the OR team. Monitor aseptic technique, identify breaks in sterility, and perform needle, sponge, and instrument counts. Collect, identify, and deliver specimens according to policy and follow Universal Protocol for patient identification. Participate in staff education, unit PI activities, and the implementation of new policies to improve departmental function. Work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Must be a Certified Surgical Technician by the Association of Surgery Technologists, NBSTSA
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
