Job Summary
Prepare the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures by setting up instruments, sterile drapes, and supplies. Scrub in, maintain aseptic technique, and anticipate the surgical team's needs to pass instruments and supplies. Assist with patient positioning, prepping, draping, vital signs, transport, and hygiene. Perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN before, during, and after surgery. Ensure proper specimen care, decontaminate instruments, restock carts, and assist in emergencies like stat cesarean sections and postpartum hemorrhage. Maintain competency in neonatal resuscitation equipment. Participate in quality improvement activities and attend required trainings. Work night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with alternating weekends, full-time status, and 36 weekly standard hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
- Certification by the Association of Surgery Technologists as a Surgical Technologist CST, NBSTSA
- Basic Life Support /CPR certification through American Heart Association
- 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
- Alternating Weekends
- Full Time
- 36 Weekly Standard Hours
